Good Afternoon, Class!
I would like each of you to create one blog post in response to the following question:
Using evidence from the text and your own personal experiences, state whether or not you think Alaska Young killed herself in John Green's "Looking For Alaska".

Alexa Jameson: I think that it was an accident. Alaska, although sometimes depressed, always seemed to have a silver lining. She loved to have fun and pull pranks. Alaska was obviously drunk when she got into the car. She would have to be sober to kill herself on purpose.
Jane Gangles: I disagree with Alexa. I think that Alaska was really upset about her mom and never felt like she fit in. She wanted her suffering to stop. BTW, I looked on the author's website and found his response to this question: http://johngreenbooks.com/alaska-questions/
Mr. Hockwater: Good job, girls. Can you both add specific examples from the text and some quotes? Thanks!
